Hello from the West of Scotland
I'm Alasdair fairly new TF owner. I bought this in 2023 first drawn in by the colour (it's IAU Mirage 2). There was some tidying up work needed but service history and MOT history were good. I enjoyed the car that summer then my rear wheel bearing went while investigating that I uncovered some serious rust on the rear subframe and mounts so decided to put the car off the road and replace the subframes. Then I started a new job which has taken me away for the last year and a half so the car has stayed off the road. I have spent my time building up a stock of spares and service parts and am about to embark on a little work.
replace front subframe
refurbish brake calipers
replace all bushes and bearings
replac all brake pipes
replace the front armature (existing one is bent)
refurbish the headlights
custom leather interior (seats, gaiters, doorcards, steering wheel and dashboard)
new door hinge pins
may replace the softop for a new mohair with glass screen
new rear subframe and mounts
engine overhaul
new stainless steel exhaust, manifold and downpipe
new type approved CAT
new cables and linkages
new clutch
new silicone coolant pipes
new stainless steel high flow radiator
refurbish wheels
respray (in IAU)
most of the front end work is complete so time to pull the rest to bits and crack on.
I may be on here with many questions in the future
Thanks for reading this far

A nice looking TF. It looks like you have a lot of work on your plate with that list of yours!
You will find some very informative owners on here that give of their advice freely and willingly. Not much stumps them.
Enjoy your stay,
Brian

I think my list started as a bit of a wish list but as time has went on the list of parts in the garage is growing monthly, in the end I decided that as i was lifting the body off I may as well capture as much as I can even if it means missing another summer of driving.

its nice to see one in Mirage 2. A pal has a Mirage ZT. He tried to explain the difference between Mirage and Mirage 2 at length a few times , one has a silver flip, the other gold as far as i can understand it

I did find out that my car is No.8 of only 38 TF's in that colour
