Anthracite '01 MGF 6 years 11 months ago #177591

Hi I have recently bought my 1st MG a '01 F in Anthracite and it looks lovely. So pleased with it & the drive back from Wimbourne to Blackfield was great, it felt like I was in a fast go kart! Not the best with new tech so will try & get some pics this week. The previous owner said change the oil every 6k is that OK?Also can I put seats and door trims out of a mk1 into my mk2?
Cheers

Changing the oil and filter regularly is definitely good practice.

I think you can put Mk1 seats and doorcards into a Mk2 - though most people do the reverse. You would need the square handle escutcheons from the Mk1 as well. I have a feeling that some of the clips aren't quite in the right place on the door cards - perhaps someone else can advise.

Hi everyone and thanks for the warm welcome. Here hopefully is a pic of "EHO" my MGF.Your cars look great and I shall look forward to meeting some of you. I live near Beaulieu anyone live near me?Only been here 6 months and have had lots to do.I am looking for a set of Mk2 seats and door cards for the car.I know I did say Mk1 items but after another look I do prefer the later seats.
Thanks from Tony.

Tony - yours is a mk2 so should have mk2 seats.

There has been a discussion on faceache about an anthracite mk2, that wasn't about your car was it?

Hi James no that was not me on Facebook I left it as too much crap on there! My car does have mk2 seats but I would like black leather ones as that is my favourite trim colour for cars. Your MG Maestro sounds great I always did like those.

We've had 7 maestros over the years, this one is defiantly the most fun but I wish I had some time to spend on it.
