Hi,

About a month or so ago I was wandering past a garage - my daily driver parked with a shopping full of boot. No plans to buy an MGF - OK I'd thought about it and looked a little. Before I knew it I'd bought my TF and as figuring out how to explain the rather large hole in the bank account to the boss. I can see I paid top dollar for my car - but everything works so I guess there's that.

The car dealer said I should take the car there and then - it was taxed and MOT'D and the sun was shining - so top down straight away.

I'm ancient compared to the bright young things on here but I still smile when the car bursts into life... I'm lousy with spanners - I guess a fuse change is possible.

I think age and mechanical ability are by the by. More important is willingness to have a go and keep her on the road. That is the gist I've had from the majority, there are some who are a bit snide but you find that in all walks of life. Ignore the sniping and love the community to be found on T Bar.

I have the tools but am not very confident always think if I take it to bits will it go back together and ever work again

Ohh dear - I seem to have broken the BarryD account so I've registered as BarryD-65 - I don't suppose a mod can kill the BarryD account at all? I linked it from my Facebook page and now I cannot seem to get on at all. Serves me right for being lazy I guess. Hello again...

BarryD would be preferred as that's the one I've used on car forums for the last 10 years but if it's trouble...
