Proper screen wash has anti-freeze properties.

Help! My washers have stopped working this morn, I've just been out to investigate a little and I'm hoping it may be a blockage somewhere BUT, can anyone tell me if you can hear the washer motor buzzing when operating them and sat in the car? I couldn't hear anything with the bonnet open which I suppose is a bad sign...

I did the Xsara mod, took longer to work out how to get them off the old scrapper Citroen than do the mod. Makes a world of difference for ten minutes work, I get water on the screen now!

Didn't realise that valve made so much difference! I'm gonna pop mine off and see if my Malaysian alloy version of those Xsara style ones work better without it!

I found the Xsara jets hit the wipers not the windscreen. Replaced them with FIAT ones which are fine.

(but I assumed it's the same part as used by Peugeot and Citroen... )

You should definably hear them if you were outside the car with the bonnet open. When I first got my car I found the washer pump connection had corroded badly and the pump had also died.

Argh! There is definitely no noise, I'm going the blow back the pipes in case a blockage has caused a fuse to blow and hope it's that simple. Worst case scenario I need a new pump. Blutty Nora

Well, it can't be the fuse as I think it's on the same one as the wipers which are still working, I need to identify if power is getting to the pump. It doesn't look particularly corroded from what I could see.
