Is it possible to swap the above manifold (alloy) with the standard plastic one. I've got the vacuum pipes and the sensor they go to.

Yes. It is. I've swapped mine after repeated inlet manifold leaks. The plastic one was warped. You need two extra studs or bolts to attach it to the head. Have you got both halves of the alloy manifold?
