Alarming Alarm
Resolved Locked Unanswered
M<y2003 MGF has developed a completely new function.
It has decided to" beep" every minute or so,.,variablly..
All access features and immobilising system appear working correctly,
Disconnecting the battery does not change this beep, so the system has a backip supply somewhere.
Doors lock and unlock.
Setting the remote to unlock and lock the system appears good, but after about 30 secs, the beep resumes, but the blinking indicator stays off.
Any suggestions for correction?

When you say you disconnected the battery, did you remove the terminal completely?
I ask because to only thing I can think of is the stereo system may still be taking current from the feed that keep the station presets alive.
Do you have the Lucas 5 fob(A) or the Pektron fob(B)? https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/proxy/5dYdLkRYuH8uDRcNufdB5qWgYAeRiG_DFwSMLi3l_WsuR4atG4h2TgEfjhmBPOGSUR2dT0is91znw76_NOY-bUSeFESUBfEyRaZ7RSOck_q9iD_H1kQfH41yheSL0A0ZjpdmZY8
I don't know if the Pektron imobilser has a backup battery.

I removed the battery lead and left it overnight, with the irregular beep still active next day.The system is Lucas 5AS.two button remote by Lucas 315mhz.
The alarm immobiliser doesn't have a backup battery..
I have verified that.
There isn't a service agent within 100k who has a Test Book for diagnosis, so I have to truck the car there , as it wont run with the immobiliser being active.
If I could find the beeper, I would disconnect it while I try to sort it out, as it drives the neighbour mad.No surprise there
