When i started on the resto of my F, i wanted an impact driver to speed up the process, i have a compressor, but i wanted a cordless one, as i believe they give you more freedom. I did a lot of reearch and sadly most were out of my budget, so I bought one of  these

I have to say, i am very impressed, it has made my life a lot easier, and to be fair the marque gets pretty good reviews. So dont be put off by the name for your first impact wrench.

It's a slippery slope!  I bought one to persuade reluctant bolts and help my wife if she had to do wheel changes etc.
I've just bought another that has 4 separate torque settings 100 > 200 > 300 > 400 Nm.  £79.   Parkside - so posh Chinese.

This goes with the right angle impact driver / hammer drill driver and angle grinder  -  all of which use the same battery!

I may have started a new mental condition.

And created a problem where to put them all.

The tool collection conundrum & storing of then is a pressing one. I’m undecided whether The want of a new device to help me, is due to megalomania or to make the job easier as I grow older.
As most of my tools have been hard won I find getting rid of the old to replace with the most recent time & effort saver.
Therefore I still have my Black & Decker two speed mains drill, it is next to the Wolf Sapphire & others, my pneumatic tools are there & the coily pipes; two compressors etc. then there are the early battery tools & the more recent additions.
There’s no point in passing them down to my son, it is he who has given me the recent additions as he retools.
All of us who put our shoulders to the wheel know how many tools you need to buy, to end up with those used the most & I still have a foot deep in the imperial camp.
I’m stopping now as I’m beginning to become unsettled just by thinking about it all & the further ramifications.

Parkside are not that bad , for home use and that impact one is made in Germany .

Mark63 - " that inpact one is made in Germany "  That would be a plus.  I cannot see me using the 400 Nm setting but who knows.

I agree with what you say - maybe not Top Quality or intended for pro use, but for the price they seem more than good enough.
I've just found I have another - 12V screwdriver that has been useful for many years.  Has a few special additions 1 of which I haven't an idea what use it is.

Plus the old chinese ones I've had were distinctly dubious in their power claims.   It will be interesting to see how accurate the Parkside is.

That's the one I have, along with several other electric tools. Not top top but as Mark says, good for occasional home use.

Really good for the price, also, and long-lasting. Nothing to do with Chinese crap.

Borrowed the same tool from my Son, Alas it wouldn't even undo the wheel nuts on my TF, so I bought a Chinese corded one from Amazon best £60 I've ever spent.

As an FYI, in my experience, 400 Nm probably won't be enough the undo the two RH engine mount bolts, it may take over 1000 Nm.

I wonder how accurately the Chinese Nm tracks the ISO Nm & as I’ve commented before just how does the occasional user assess such things.
There is a good point made by D4KGP, the battery tools are so convenient, great & rapid bit changeability, complete freedom to use anywhere but if you have access to mains, a good 250v unit will not run out of grunt, even after several hour of hard graft.
My windy guns are great but heavy, the battery angle grinders, brilliant but if I’m cutting 10mm thick steel bar, I plug in. I have a small wizzy windy grinder which is a joy to use, on small stuff, obviously, tax it to much & it runs out of breath.
Horses for courses & to stick with mammalian metaphors, more cattle, more care.

I've tried the Parkie torque thing and it seems to work very well.    Fat better feel and quality that the cheapo chinese thing I have in management's car for wheel changing.
Virtually twice the weight for a start.
One small disappointment is it is already 2.5 years old!  As is the battery.    Next time, should there be one,  I shall be careful to buy from a supplier that has a lot of turnover.
