ZR facelift not locking presumably a relay has failed

My sons 54 ZR no longer wants to lock, the fob works - the boot opens ok, and the unlock would appear to work when pressed as there is noise from the doors.
I got out the spare fob, fitted new battery, and it does the same. He also thought the hazards flashed differently.
So it looks like one of the relays in the Pektron has failed. Found a topic here https://www.the-t-bar.com/forum/pscan-uk-diagnostic-tool-forum/97229-central-locking-fault-le500-pektron#194462 which has a post :
Have you tried going in the Actuators menu in pscan for the Pektron?
There is a button there called Locking.
You can lock and unlock the doors from the diagnostic tool there and see what happens.

I do have a Pscan (had it for years)  if I try the above would it confirm that the relevant relay has failed. Unluckily his ZR has a/c as does mine (54 1.8)  so it looks to make things more complicated to remove the unit.  Was wondering if Pscan would somehow analyse the relay.

Not quite.  The "locking" button in actuators in pscan bypasses the wires and switches associated with the locks and central locking switches, but so does pressing the buttons on the fob.

If you use pscan and it works then this tells you that the problem is something on the inputs to the Pektron ECU.
if it doesn't work then it shows you that it's ECU itself (most probably relays) or something on the output side, such as wiring or lock motors.
