Confused- Another Tyre Question
Did you get the XT130 in the UK? I thought it was an OZ only model, those things had a truly horrible engine the Holden supplied Starfire 1.9 litre 4cyl, it was a "development" ( for want of a better term) of the already prehistorically ancient Holden 6cyl engine basically a 6 cyl engine with two pots cut off the end (it ran like it too! the damned things would shake themselves to death!) Toyota Australia used them here to get around the local content requirements to get around tariffs, I could see no good reason why they would've seen fit to inflict them upon the UK
I doubt thee are any of these engines left runnig either in the Toyota XT130 Corona or the Commodores and Sunbirds that Holden used them in.
These engine were so rough Holden had to reinforce the conrods with extra webbing to stop them from breaking, many of these 4cyl rods found their way into performance modified Holen 6cyl engines that never came with these reinforced rods. In fact the conrods were the only redeeming feature of these bloody awful things.

No..the struts, hubs and brakes came from your part of the world...Queensland if I remember correctly.
We did get the Corona's early on but not the XT130. They went big on the Carina and Camry, both dull but ultra reliable workhorses.
Using the 130 struts was just to get a stronger strut with bigger brakes. The AE86 struts fit and give you vented discs but they are like rocking horse poo to find and a fortune to buy.
You can't use the later Celica struts with big vented discs because the hub angle was wrong and gave you positive camber and no matter how much you lengthened the bottom arms you couldn't get rid of it.

So the 5 speed + bell housing, the conrods, struts and discs were the only things worth having out of an XT130, Toyota 5 speed manuals are often used for conversions, they've often stuck behind an early Holden 6 cyl engine.
At least there was something to justify the existence of the nasty horrid shitboxes!

That's about right 😁😁
The T50 5 speed box was used in a lot of kit cars over here as most were using 4 speed. Can't buy one anywhere now.
