You have cast your die & I think it’s a cracking idea. Just get on with it & if it fails you will know why; amendments made until you succeed.
There will have been naysayers when the first person decided to drill a hole in a sphere & welded on an adapter. This is now the accepted method of rejuvenation, who is to say that your piloting of this method won’t become the adopted way in future.
There is a finite stock of good diaphragms & when they are all on cars & heading towards failure;
What then?
By adopting a diaphragm in an alternative location & with a repeatable item, will extends the life of a car designed to run on hydragas. Our cars could still running on hydragas when they are sixty or seventy years old.
Without folk inventing new ways of approaching problems we might still be seeing men jumping off high buildings with home made wings in the vane hope of flying to France!
