I have the later set up on my TF with the O2 sensor in the exhaust downpipe and a further O2 sensor after the CAT. Is there a way to disconnect this sensor so I can fit another exhaust but not have the engine management light coming on?

Reason for asking is, I have a Milltek on my MGF that I thought about fitting onto the TF, as the F is MEMS2 it has the earlier exhaust with the longer bend to the CAT so I would need to fit the MGF CAT as well so no place to fit the 2nd O2 sensor.

Yep, you fit a MIL eliminator box on the second lead. basically it's a box of tricks that fools the ecu into thinking the sensor is still there.

Yep, I have one of these fitted on the post cat Lambda sensor. Works well.

I take it that ebay is the place to go for such a device.

This may sound daft but cant you leave it connected and clip it somewhere out of the way, it would still take readings from normal outside air

Interesting thought, but I don't think what the sensor is expecting is clean air.
The O2 reading would be too high.

The way I read it is the second sensor is just there to sample post cat emissions, if they are different to what it expects it will light up the dash light. No effect on the running of the vehicle.

yeah thats my sort of idea too, so if it just taking in clean air, it will think the cats working.....mad but simples

Funnily enough, I would have thought a high O2 reading is not what it is looking for. High O2 readings would suggest incomplete combustion.

Correct CJJ, it has a preset range of values it is looking for. Higher or lower than this and it lights the MIL light and logs a fault code as the cat is not working to its parameters.
I have no 2nd O2 sensor as mine has an early exhaust on a late MEMS 3 engine in an early MEMS 1.9 car, no light in my dash so it doesn't bother me.
Seems to run just fine without.
Take the bulb out from the dash maybe?
