Overheating after HGF Fix 6 years 5 months ago #181927

John. Hi, I've checked the top jiggle valve but didn't get to the lower one due to a lack of access and available tools at home. I've not noticed a PRT valve on my car, although I could be wrong. The radiator has been changed and the thermostat changed twice without success. I've spent too much money to give in yet so I'll try the other valve when I'm next home. Thanks for the encouragement and advice.

I don't want to pee on your chips but, I had a similar problem with air locking and over heating, turned out that the HG hag gone in one small part allowing the system to pressurise and create air locking and subsequent over heating, I'm not saying this is the problem as you say its new but don't discount it as it will drive you mad and mine had only done 1000 miles.

I
Steve, I hope your not right mate. Mines only done 10 miles or so since the HGF repair, and it wasn't cheap. Fingers crossed but it's now time to call in for reinforcements in the form of a specialist to get me past the final hurdle. The car is gleaming too. New hood, re-furbed wheels, arches sorted, and bushes replaced. Clean'n shiny but no use to me as an driveway ornament. :-?

I hope I'm not right either and it just an airlock, just passing on experiences, being positive , when you find the problem it would be nice to know what the cause was for future reference. Thanks and good luck.
