Evening folks hope all is well in the land of TBar.

As some of you guys and gals may remember before Christmas I started a thread on the "other" forum bout going sensible and getting myself on to the property market. A big and positively scary prospect if there ever was one!

So the sensible Diesel ZT was bought as stage one. gives me great mpg even in the city and costs nowt to insure, tax and run its also an MG so that counts for a LOT even though it has a roof :rolleyes2:

Come summer my student loan will be paid off too paving the way to sensibly start the ball rolling into a life of eating beans, being cold and being skint

I have had interest in the car from a few specialist garages down south that deal with "specialised sports vehicles" but obviously I'd rather the car go to a competant MG enthusiast that can take my car and make it even better!

So thats the bottom line. The TF will be going.. fortunately I am not in a REAL hurry for it to go tbh as the top down action is as addictive as ever! but realistically... a 22 year old taking his first steps in the real world cannot have a one off sports car and pad of my own..

So folks.. any ideas of where to start with the car?

err the real world...... sleep in the car, you wouldnt be the first to 'rough it'.

done that many a time and even once in the TF when on an extended Cross country jaunt!

how much do you think the car will sell for? i assume youve already got a job with buying a house could you get a second job? a bank loan? its just seems a same after putting all that work in your selling so soon. do you have enough spare cash to bet red 3 or 4 times?

If you're talking about selling it, then why not pistonheads and as a trackday car? bhp/ton will pitch that with some more exotic machinery.

Otherwise store it away

Aww mate trust me when I say I understand tough decisions when it comes to the car you love! :frown: Still you've made the sensible decision... a property is far more important and then there's always remorgaging to buy another TF! I know it won't quite be the same but c'est la vie.

I've no idea what you'd market her at but by all means stick up a for sale thread on here and good luck with the sale!

Figo - I guess you will need the cash from the TF to put into your deposit etc? if not I would store it away but like most of us - that probably wont be an option:(

Price wise it will be difficult to value but I am sure you will have no bother selling it:yesnod:

The easy way out is to swap your anniversary soopy doopy V thingy for my 135 sunstorm, you get to save squillions of pounds on tax and insurance and can afford to live, I get to pratt around in a faster TF, SIMPLES!!

Well all be it I'm skint these days I still have a stock pile of cars to sell

So I'd be interested I'm in the process of sell two now a third would be worth getting rid of to afford it

Its a good idea to get a property now, prices have already started increasing and are likely to be this low again for some time.
Thants the head talking anyway, and I always go with the heart lol

hehe the heart will always yearn for another TF. and It will get one... my thinkinh is the sooner I get on my feet after what is essentially something I gotta do the sooner I can get back to the sports car regime!

Yeah the money from the TF will be added to the deposit.. cos as we all know the extra thous are multiplied by a lot at the end of the mortgage!
