a very funny thing happened today when attempting to fit the daytona exhaust................

everything thing went perfect :bounce::bounce:

all the nuts and bolts slackened off ok, no swearing, no tantrums and NO grinder required :woohoo::woohoo::woo::woo:

i now have a very nice sounding car :yesnod:

I also finally fitted our Daytona yesterday!:whistle:

Things went as expected, ..............I had to grind the three bolts off as the nuts were amorphous lumps of rust.

The two nuts holding the right hand hanger were seized and despite copious amounts of penetrating oil they refused to budge, and finally both bolts sheared off.

Finally, the large nut and bolt holding the clamp together was also seized solid and had to be ground off.

So just what I expected really!:yesnod:

Having said that, the whole operation was done in less than an hour, and now we have a very nice sounding MGF.

Oh, and a pile of rusty scrap metal that was the old exhaust system.:bubbles:

:err: Oh dear Phil you do know now that when you start the engine next the car's just going to blow up! I recommend a metal plate under the seat... worked for De Niro. :yesnod:

But seriously, well done to both of you for fitting your Daytonas! :rocker: ...although bit disappointed by the lack of pics/video clips. :dc:

thats about how i was expecting it to go, i had been soaking the nuts for the last couple of days with 3in1 penetrating oil so maybe that helped :yesnod:

Have you done away with the cat or fitted a sports cat or stayed with the OEM?
