Replace A Track Rod End 9 years 4 months ago #153789

Single MoT failure item on my 1996 F was an off side track rod end, which i replaced today with the help of CJJs guide on 'How to'

Thank you Clive, I found this very useful , even though i have done TRE's in the past, your guide was good.

It is the original TRE at 18 years old, so its had a good life, cut the rubber boot open after i got it off and there is still grease in there and not that badly worn.

Thank you.

The car feels so much better since I replaced the TRE (Passed re-test too).

I have the service records since new, car made on 4th September 1996, current mileage 64,064, nearside TRE was replaced in 2002 at 49,455 miles and dealer charged £27.50 for the part, how things change!! I paid £17 from Sussex Classic car parts. :woohoo:
