Hi Folks. Well I knew my life was too quiet and boring so I bought a 2005 MY MG TF 135. Great fun, except I'm cooking! Doesn't matter where I put the heater control - and yes it does appear to be moving the shaft - I get the benefit of a nice red hot cockpit. Good job it's still winter. Water temperature and oil temp are normal as far as the gauges indicate. Can anyone shed light on this before I reinvent the wheel and then find it's a well known issue? :-?

Check that the cable is attached to the actual valve behind the centre console.

Have a look here.

If your valve is broken I have a spare one in my hoard of parts, I had this problem and Clive's link ^^^ sorted it out.

:woohoo: Thanks guys - problem solved! Turned out the metal arm on the valve itself wasn't attached to the plastic actuator. So although the knob turned OK and the cable worked the actuator, it didn't control the valve. A little judicious adjustment in the style of the Jeremy Clarkson school of precision engineering and Viola! Hot and COLD running air. Now all I have to do is fix the brakes, the roof, the rubber seals, the door leaks, the...........

ps. Viola is a French word for a type of plastic flooring.....I think?

Roof rubber seals, you can put hard rubber inside your current rubber to plump it up.
I have some in the garage of hoarding MG parts and trying to get rid of stuff a bit at a time.

Hi Bensewell. Thanks for the offer. What would you take for some of it and could you post to my daughter if I send you some money?
