All I recall of SW is Carrie Fisher in a gold bikini...... With what looked like a Danish pastry stuck on each side of her head. Sat next to the stunt double of my Ma in Law.

Don't forget the topless lady painted blue in return of the Jedi.. Not bad for a U rated film..

Allan your engine looks superb looking forward to seeing it in the car. Did you have the subframes powder coated or did you paint them yourself? love the red.

The subframes were blasted.. With EVERYTHING removed.. Every nut, bolt, fixing etc

Then seam welded (added strength)

Then zinc primed (this bites into the metal to a point to offer better rust proofing)

Then 2 coats stone chip (slightly textured but very tough)

Then 2 coats 2k primer

Then 3 top coats 2k solid red

I'm not a fan of powder coat.. As it chips easily and moisture creeps underneath..

Both subframes have been blasted and painted this way..

Then brand new bolts (12.9) throughout.. New nylocs where required.. No second hand or 'reconditioned' !?! bolts on my build

The subframe mounts are all brand new.. And the smaller ones have all been beefed up (see Cyberman mount thread)

It's been a real labour of love.. But should stay rust free for a while
