What would need to be done to convert a 1.8mpi to a VVC?

I have a Possible donor car which is 143 VVC.

Swap engine, ECU and loom. It's a big job.

Straightforward, but big.

Does it need to be the whole engine or can it just be the head? and the VVC mech obviously!

You could, but it would be far far easier to just drop both frames and swap the whole thing

Only the 160 vvc as a slighter stronger end the 143 bottom end is no different to a 118.The 160 vvc as slightly stronger pistons and they have 160 stamped on the top can be viewed when head off Only good for 190-200 the race boys wont wind up any more without forging them

£250 to £350 for a a decent vvc cylinder head pressure tested and skimmed, hot tested & vvc mech timed up.£40 loom,£50 ecu with lucas box and fob, decent head gasket stretch bolts pretensioner timing belt, water pump.oil and filter prices vary on ebay.i would estimate no more than £500 for the parts.A decent mechanic would take 4 to 6 hours to swap the heads over there fees i cannot speak for,a lot quicker and cheaper labour rates than dropping subrame and swapping engine, gearbox over if you not looking to do it yourself.

I have a possible donor car, will be getting the 1.8mpi MOT'd shortly to make sure it is not a wreck and is worth while doing the conversion. Once done I will start to look for an idea of prices.
