i don't have any data, just engineering brain thinking about it :pop:
i do know there have been restrictions on certain bumpers/bars modified to the front of vehicles because of where the deformation sensors attach to the chassis.
obviously these were being type approved for sale, which you aren't doing..

Was going to clean the steering rack up while the subframe was off, but, I found a new one for a little over £100, so I got that instead.

Paid for it yesterday morning and it arrived fresh from Mike Satur today at around 3pm. I also have new TREs.

My tip of the week is not to assume e-bay is the cheapest place to buy.

MS was advertising these on e-bay for £108 and £11.94 P&P

Went to his website and they were £100 and £11.94 (+£1.50 handling charge???).

OK. So it is only a saving of £6.50, but I would have expected the e-bay price to be cheaper.

I was impressed with the speed of delivery though. :broon:

I also had fun at Halfords.

Rang up to order 3 x cans of MG Royal Blue JFM so they could mix them before I got there.

Bloke said he couldn't mix them until I paid, so I said I don't mind paying over the phone but I had a Trade Discount card. He said I couldn't use that over the phone. I explained that I didn't have the time to wait while he mixed them etc, so after an uncomfortable pause he said he would have them ready in about 2 hours time.

I turn up around 2 hours later " Ahh crap, I forgot all about it".

Ok then I'll wait. He gave the job to a young lass who took about 20mins to make up the 3 cans.

Just about to pay, picked up the can, Hmmm..... JFN.

Girl says that was what she was asked to make and I said that's not what I asked for. She was apologetic, I think she just wanted me to know that it wasn't her fault. So, I had to wait another 20mins while she made up another 3 cans.

Good job I'm laid back. ;)

I've been slowly reassembling the bits between crap weather and I got the vent bits back from powder coating yesterday, so I thought I would put some more pics up.

The ducting is pretty much complete now. I'm going to order 2 slimline radiator fans, and when I get them I will fit the new radiator and pipe work, so this is just a trial fit with the old rad in place.

The seal at the top lines up nicely with the vents in the bonnet.

When do you find out if it makes a significant difference to front downforce?

Got my radiator fans today. They are very low profile but pretty effective.

Had to take the blades off and turn them over, but they seem to work quite well.

The mounts don't line up but that is just a minor problem that a drill will solve. ;)

When I drive it I suppose. Once MOT'd I will be giving it a shakedown on the dual carriageway.

Got a few jobs done today.

Drilled some drainage holes as there was a bit of a puddle forming at the bottom of the ducting, fitted new radiator and new hoses.

New Rad

With new fans and new Rhoose hoses.

and the ducting fits nicely after a bit of adjusting.
