Well, I've been doing some leatherwork, mainly buying ready made and installing myself and I want to match to the dash (and elsewhere - doors/windscreen surround) so exploring some options:-

1. Getting it made and then fitting myself (preferred option)
2. MGF Centre/Mike Satur Oprtions (good but expensive)
3. DIY (last resort)

Option 1 - I am currently persuing this but no definite outcome identified

Option 2 - A non starter really as this would defeat objective of achieving this low budget

Option 3 - I have the leather to match existing leatherwork but this presents lots of challenges i.e. patterns, cutting and probably the most difficult.... sewing

So, assuming Option 1 doesn't materialise, I would like to consider Option 3. I have seen a number of examples, which pattern wise appear pretty much the same. What I'm looking for are any patterns that have been created that have worked, any advice on do/don't, sewing tip etc etc.

Feedback from any experiences you may have had would be most welcomed :yesnod:

Thanks

Macca

No problem, I was impressed with it and saved it in case I won the lottery, or something :-)

This thread could be what your looking for, http://www.the-t-bar.com/en/?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=9&id=65690

Excellent, and thanks. This has given me some different options to consider too. I've got black leather/gunsmoke alcantara at present so extending that to the window pillars/instrument cowling (even the steering wheel) could be an option.

Cheers, Macca

No problem, as I mentioned above, I saw it and saved it, so was quite easy to dig out. The thing that will help the most is it shows how to make the patterns and goes into quite a lot of detail.

I'd have a bash myself, but right now all the money is going into the wedding...
