Re: Quick Question about under the exhaust 11 years 9 months ago #62914

don't forget to block off the rubber tube a long screw should do, and secure it with a cable tie somewhere.
but remember theres a flappy thing inside the pipe just like the carburetta flappy thing and this will rattle till it gets fed up and passes onto your CAT where it will stop may block things or pass into silencer

don't know this glass roof thingie, but two sink plungers?

Yes block up the vacuum tube that operates it. You could also remove the control thingamabob which is mounted in the RH engine bay just above the bay cooling fan. If you take that out then block the vacuum tube where it comes off the inlet manifold.

But the valve is downstream of the cat and the silencer so I can't see how it can get stuck in the cat's throat!

THanks Jan, I was a wimp n thought wow this things heavy so will have another go to get that valve off. That valve could be hooked up to something else instead at 3,500 revs it triggers something to happen hopefully not a failure.

Don't unzip it Ben, its a witch to do back up and cannot be done on your own :nonod:

If you have a heated rear screen be sure to disconnect that as well or you will break the connection and it will need soldering back on..

I know as I did :slapme:

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

I find the easiest way to keep the rear of the hood from dropping on your head is to fold it forward then wrap a long cable tie around the frame just at the rear of the driver side window. Some use bungees, but there is always the risk of it twanging off and hurting you.

Don't bother disconnecting the wire for the exhaust flap thing, I did this butit still didn't open fully, easiest thing to do is pop the circlip off the back of that rod, pull the rod off then you can open the flap fully, I just cable tied mine fully open, it sounds great now
