Because of the MGTF cars' low profile, I almost always have my sidelights on when driving. I believe it's safer that way when driving mainly in the city. I decided to freshen up the tired old yellow sidelights bulbs with these -
Specification:
7 LED White Xenon Car Side Lights Bulbs 501/T10/W5W
Dimensions: 22mm (L)* 10mm(Plug)*12mm(Dia)
Light Source: 7 LED
Colour: Cool Xenon White Look
Standard: 12V DC
Each bulb has 7 LEDs
When you've finished, they should look something like this -

You can see the old and new sidelights operating during daytime running and in darkness in the video below.

Headlights on -
They look great with xenon headlight bulbs.
That's a lot of light for such a little bulb!
I emailed the seller with a link to the how to guide a few days ago and they were quite enthused by it. Since then they've dropped the price of the bulbs by 70p to £3.29 for a pair. That's about 18% off for T-Bar members (and the rest of the world).
No doubt you can get them cheaper from Hong Kong, but it will take two months to get here. At least they should be here for winter, if you do it that way. I did notice a lot of big posh Audi drivers, with their lovely led lights, eyeballing my little MG lights as I drove to work in Brum through the week. Jealous buggers.
Brilliant, thanks for this! I have the same bulbs and at a glance in the rain last night couldn't work a way into the lights.
Glad to be of service. It's what the T-Bar is all about.
I've added a 'sidelight daytime running' video at the foot of the how to guide above. I'll add another showing them in twilight next week, as they're not too clearly apparrent in broad daylight. But you'll get the picture that they are much better than they were previously.

A lot of my guides are simply trying to upgrade or update some of the more simple, but excellent, guides done in the past. They really are a superb asset and I give thanks that all the hard ones have been done already.
Anyway, there are links to the bulbs within that link above. You would need to check the number of the bulb ie; the sidelight bulb is a 501 and then click the link to the ebay outlet in my post for whichever bulb you needed. Don't forget to check the measurements of the newer LED bulbs because they do some weird and wonderful things with them. Link below.
