Ok, thought I would post this list for the mechanical upgrades and necessary bits and bobs to help... I can then cross off the list once all done... If people post other parts, Ill add to the list and hopefully one day they will all be complete This could also serve as a basis for any other new MGF/TF owner looking to ensure car is mechanically sound.

Head Gasket - 2007
Cam Belt x2 - 2012
Cam Tensioner - 2012
Alternator Belt - 2012
Water Pump - 2012
Ss coolant pipes
Aluminium radiator (according to paperwork I went through in bed this was changed in 07 when hgf. I'll check car later to see replacement quality)
Coolant alarm
Expansion tank cap
Hoses (I'll check receipts... i read hoses but sure they were brake hoses not coolant)
Water pump (although this be same one I had replaced above with cam belt work last week? I'm assuming it is. God I feel dumb)

Ratchet spanners are a must! There not cheap but... I've used them for loads of stuff. They have a cheap set at aldi for £15 i think but I got a good set from Halfords for about £40 i think?

Halfords have a sale on still i think I got a very good socket set for £60 it was a professional one the ratchet and all the bits don't give you any jip at all.

Screwdriver set.

Extension bar for ratchet set.

Tyre compressor and gauge.

Release oil, lubricating oil and grease.

Funnel.



..... just some of the simple stuff that you'll always need.

might I suggest torque wrench?
and Socket's eg 1/4 and 1/2 inch drive with extension bars (the damn back lights are 8mm and I can't find my 1/4" extension)
