Craig,
didn't we have email recently about her ? Could be some month ago cause I could'nt find the mail. Some additional dates.
18th March 1997 was the despatch date to somewhere abroad. That could be Japan or Australia where it arrived probably 11. June 1997.
The VVC engine number should read 18K4KJ90 476306

Hi Dieter, thanks, I added it to your Db a couple of years ago I think. The car was dispatched to Australia and was first registered/received Australian compliance plates in Adelaide, South Australia in Feb 1998 (not October as I previously said). The engine number however is no longer 18K4KJ90 476306. It was changed after a catastrophic failure on the track last year while chasing down an XK8 Jaguar. It now has a different K series engine that was built for track days by Adrian Akhurst from AA automotive in Adelaide. As far as I can tell I'm the third owner and it is my daily drive. The car has been registered in three different Australian states; South Australia, New South Wales and is currently registered in Tasmania and has done about 124,998 Km.

If you complete Dieter's VIN survey, he will tell you any info he has on your vehicle.
Dieters' survey link.
I think Bryan Young was in touch with Dieter or someone else who has access to the production records, but unfortunately due to personal circumstances he is not doing this at the moment. So please click on the link above and Dieter will come back to you with additional info. You really want to supply your engine and body numbers too. The body number can be found behind the boot carpet on the side were the ECU is.
EDIT Link is now working  Thank you Leigh
