I discovered mine was the 4448th MY2000 to be produced and was registered 14 weeks after leaving the production line.

However, like all the cars on here it is

:woohoo:

I am probably not going to tell you any more about your MGF than you already know :- Yours is a standard car with a 1.8 VVC 145PS engine, 5 speed manual gearbox with VVC final drive, 1999 model year (which started May 1998) built on CAB1 production line ( commenced August 1998) yours is the 4581th to be built on this line, at the rate of approximately 200 per week, I estimate that it was made sometime early in February 1999. (Dieter will have the exact date) * It was not registered until 31st August 1999 in Middlesbrough (EF)

I am guessing the colour is Nightfire Red CAQ ?

It could have spent the first few months of its life in the secure compound being looked after by Leigh and Well-ard! Or it could have gone to a dealership in the North. It is interesting that Laz’s and yours were both registered in Middlesbrough, but 15 months apart!.

I find it very interesting in finding out the facts about the MGs and enjoy doing it for whoever asks. As Secretary to a local MG club with 300 members, I am often asked technical questions about members MGs, some of which I can’t answer, but usually know someone that can. I also have the advantage of knowing Roger Parker at the MGOC, and what he doesn’t know about MGs isn’t worth knowing. I am also able to remember a lot of the things that I have discovered about MGs, sometimes I frighten myself by being able to recall things from 30 years ago as vividly as if it happened today.

Here you go:-

I am probably not going to tell you any more about your MGF than you already know :- Yours is a standard Right Hand Drive car with a 1.8 VVC 145PS engine, 5 speed manual gearbox with VVC final drive, 1995 model year (which started 27 August 1995) built on CAB2 production line , yours is the 21905th to be built on this line, at the indicated rate of approximately 256 units per week, I estimate that it was made some time towards the end of February 1997. (Dieter will have the exact date) * I assume that it was first registered in the UK?? But as I don’t have the original registration I am unable to check
I am guessing the colour is White Diamond NAL ? If it is, only 1545 Fs were produced in this colour which equates to 2.7% of the total MGF production.

Thanks Brian, that sounds about right and yes it is NAL, I knew White Diamond was rare I didn't know there were only 1545 produced in that colour though. I'm not sure that it was ever registered in the UK, I do know it was first registered in Australia in October 1998.
