Re: Abu Dhabi GP 13 years 5 months ago #18549

I would love to see Lewis win the title, but his chances are slim. :(

So failing that I would like to see Vettel leading Weber with Alonso 3rd with 2 laps to go.....

And then a radio message to Vettel:

"Webber is quicker than you - do you understand?"

Agreed, it would be funny,but...

Here's a scenario.

One lap to go. Vettel out. Webber leading Alonso by 10 seconds, with Lewis right behind Alonso and faster.
What would Hamilton do?

Hamilton would definitely have a go at Alonso.
I think the even more interesting one is, Vettel out, Lewis leading, Webber second, Alonso third, would Lewis have a slight momentary engine problem?

From the BBC F1 site:
'Lewis Hamilton has admitted he would love to see Mark Webber emerge victorious in this year's Formula world title race if he cannot claim the championship for himself. "He has been told by his team what position he is and against adversity he has kept at it," Hamilton said. "He has done an awesome job."

looking at the practice - Hamilton's McLaren looked good.
So if it was 1Hamilton, 2Webber, 3Vettel and then 4Alonso - Fernando would be champion!

ideally i'd like to see it webber... anybody else and then alonso as far down the pecking order as the gods see fit to throw him

as long as webber wins the championship whithout cheating i'd be happy

if alonso crashed and vettle won i'd also be happy but i think webber deserves it more - i have no reason for thinking this i just do lol

hamilton is out of it as far as im concerned

unless vettle, webber and alonso all decide to merge there cars into one at the first corner anyway

indeed it should be a good race no matter what but i may throw things at the TV if alonso wins the championship

and if he wins by less than 7 points or whatever it is then i WILL throw things at the TV!

i shall then use pieces of my now broken TV and leftover fireworks to make a improvised explosive device to post to messures dominicali, alonso and ecclestone forth with

hmm

that may be a tad extreme, perhaps i'll just have a bacon sarnie instead

Picked this scenario up from another website. it made me laugh... So

With a few laps to go ...
1. Vettel
2. Webber
3. Alonso
4. Button
5. Hamilton

If it finished in the same order, Alonso is champion, so Vettel has
a "problem" and lets Webber through. Now, if Webber wins he is champion.
Alonso needs second, so he chases down Vettel, but his high-mileage engine
cries enough and expires in a cloud of smoke and pistons. Vettel realises he
can now be champion if he wins, so his "problem" disappears and he starts
gaining on Webber.

At the beginning of the last lap Vettel catches Webber and the inevitable
happens. Both are out.

Button now leads but he quickly gets a message "Jenson, fuel is ctirical,
repeat fuel is critical". He slows and Lewis cruises by to take the win and a
second title.

Ferrari immediately lodge a protest on the grounds that illegal team orders
were applied by McLaren. Hamilton is announced as Provisional World Champion
pending a World Motorsport Council hearing in December.

In December, the WMSC announces that the protest is upheld and strip Hamilton
of his win. Alonso is declared Champion. McLaren immediately lodge a counter
protest, citing the WMSC decision to fine Ferrari $100,000 but let Alonso
keep his points in similar circumstances. The WMSC announce Alsonso is now
Provisional World Champion pending a WMSC hearing in January.

In January, the WMSC announces that the protest is upheld, but instead of
fining McLaren and reinstating Hamilton's points, they decide to
retrospectively refund Ferrari $100,000 and strip Alonso of his points.
Webber is declared World Champion.

Red Bull Racing immediately lodge a protest on behalf of Helmut Marko because
they always wanted Vettel to win and it's not fair. The WMSC throw out the
protest and tell them to grow up. Webber is still champion.;)
