CPU remapping. Worth it?
I read that milage and throttle response is much improved by having a remap done. I know about K-maps and what they claim but has anyone had it done for a real life appraisal. TIA

I did reply and once again the Forum ate it.
I had my 135 done by K-Maps.
Posted it Monday and got it back Wednesday!
It does give you a little more power which is noticeable but driveability is much improved.
It can do 30mph now in 4th or 5th without feeling it is lugging.
Also it pulls harder about 500 revs lower down the rev range so it feels much more willing to pull at normal driving speeds.
I don't think you will regret it.
I am sure others will chime in.

I have a PScan and have often thought about a SAWS remap, but I have never seen any feedback from anyone who has done it.

I totally agree with Brian, and would add the improved gurgling sound and immobiliser deleted on request

+1 very pleased with the improvement from KMAPS. 10% more power, economy slightly improved but the largest improvement is in driveability. It can pootle around in urban traffic without needing to change down gear so often now.

+1 pretty much like others said. It wont make your car faster. The initial accellaration is much smoother. Less flat spot around 4K. Worth the investment IMO.

You havent said what car you have. Be aware that KMAPS don’t offer anything for the MEMS1.9 systems (it has a distributor cap) that are found in the early phase of the Mk1 MGFs. I believe SAWS recently started doing remapping for those though so there is still an option..
