TF airbox into F
HI,
i am swapping out the MGF airbox and resonator box for the TF airbox and a high-performance filter. Please, can someone advise where they ran the pipes as the TF airbox has two pipes rather than the one.
I have the TF bracket ready to go in.

I hope that I have some useful pictures here which may answer your questions:
The first was taken on the Longbridge production line, from underneath the car, BEFORE the rear subframe complete with engine & gearbox was raised up into position. The shorter intake hose is tied up underneath the frame which the engine cover plate is bolted onto.
Most people who have read Roger Parker's books or who have thought about the "Colder Air = More Power" equation, have moved that pipe to the side air intake:
The other intake is attached to the subframe above the silencer.

Thank you, that is very helpful indeed.
I assume i will need to purchase a new heat proof hose as one of the ones that came with the air box looked like it was heat proof at one time, but now is just a spiral.

I removed the whole intake system from my 135 TF because it was so restrictive.
I fitted a cone filter.
Should you need the whole lot you can have it FOC and postage only.
I don't really want to part it out but I will never use it again.

Somewhere here i wrote about doing that conversion on an early Mk1 F. I bypassed the resonator box and took a convoluted tube ( quite cheap from Amazon) straight from the side vent up to the original MGF air filter box. There was no advantage in replacing it for a TF one as I wanted cold air straight into the airfilter without the complication of a 2nd hose at the rear of the engine. A noticeable improvement was made just by taking the useless resonator out of the airflow and bringing in cold air from the outside world.
