MGF 2001 - Emissions test failure was created by CORKY

Car was MOTd yesterday, failed on four emissions tests. Carbon monoxide content (after 2nd fast idle and at idle), hydrocarbon content (after 2nd fast idle), lambda reading (after 2nd fast idle), Is this terminal? Time to call it a day?

Might be a suspect cat convertor, and it probably needs the crap revved out of it, take it for a drive like you stole it! Then feed it a set of new spark plugs before testing it again.
