Engine to heater pipes

I seem to remember reading somewhere that later cars had quick-release connectors for the heater pipes that connect to the back of the tunnel. They were a right pig to undo, and i can only imagine they will be worse to reconnect.

Are they available and if so, can they be retrofitted?

I bought some metal ones from Mike Satur.
