I had also noticed that tweeters, rear speaker wires etc are also present that made me think that may be it's just a case of getting the lamps and fittings.
I guess I need to remove the bumper and check for the wires being tired back somewhere. Maybe I'll get Lucky.
The only thing to think about is the bcu thingy.
Thanks

I was quite surprised all the wiring that was present on my 2002 1.6, Tweeters, rear speakers, electric mirrors, all just taped up out of the way

That's good to read. I have no tweeters fitted but maybe the wiring is there

Whether or not any extra wiring is present seems to be fairly random , my car had no such extra unused speaker wiring

Latterly all auto wiring was fully populated as it was cheaper in cable & connectors than to produce different looms for each model. 10k of one pattern with all facilities is cheaper to produce than 2k of each for a five model range. One will be more popular than another so you don’t end up being short of one & a bucket load of another.
Like Cobber, I didn’t have t-bar speaker wiring but I would have no problem fitting the electrics on an aircon system.

I have the T bar speakers so you just know I'm going to have to look behind those door cards.

My money would be on the tweeter wires being present. The wire colours are just the same as for the main speakers: Orange + Orange/Black one side, Yellow + Yellow/Black the other.

Fitting the tweeters was pretty easy. Others on here kindly measured the distance from the top and side, I drew round the inside of the tweeter locxking ring onto the door card, drilled a seies of small holes around the circumference which I then joined up with a knife. At the time Darren was selling original tweeters for £ 4 a pair so I couldnt say no.

I was given a set of JBL speakers & matching tweeters, which, for a car speaker, are surprisingly efficient & they were duly installed. I’m not a great listener to the radio, however Radio 3 we’re playing a Carl Orff concert, I’d forgotten all about the concert & was concentrating on the road, when the thunderous part of Carmina Burana came on & boy did it make me jump.
Not quite a brown out, but enough for me to check later.

Last edit: 1 year 8 months ago by Airportable. Reason: Spellcheck knows nothing about Carl Orff.

I put a mid range set of JBLs in my previous classic car and was really impressed with them. Certainly chalk and cheese compared with the standard fit, early 80's Ford, paper coned speakers they replaced. Im with you on the Carmina Burana, knocks your socks off, especially performed live.

Not being a foot fetishist I don't really care about knocking socks off, but I would find it much more impressive if it had the ability to knock bras n panties off!

Bra & panties! Pray, do you refer to a ladies foundation garments, my my, a chap should be paying attention to his own sartorial standards, ensuring his tie matches his handkerchief & not what the lady has adorned her nether regions.
Tut tut!
Well really, if you insist on me having a peep, but just one 👀.
