Hard-top heated window 10 years 6 months ago #132236

Where do I find the wire and plug to connect the heated rear window on the hard-top behind the centre consol? With my newly bought 2004 TF I have got a hard-top and the control to put into the centre consol. I have had both shields with the foot lamps removed but I did not find a wire and plug to connect to the control behind them. Do I have to find the connection at fuse 7 ?. Help please :help:

the wiring should be pre-installed, just remove the correct blind switch on the center console.
For me it was the far right switch but I heard from other positions also. You should find
a plug that fits into the switch you have.
Don't forget you need a relay also!

It SHOULD be plugged into the blank to the left of the rear fog light, simply pull out the blank and plug it into the switch - checking that its the right way up!

Do you think i need a relay also. Don´t you think it´s already there?

Is it a "stationary" connection. I mean not a loose core with a plug to put into the switch?

if you don't have the switch installed I doubt the relay is there...

But it's not a huge investment, I used this aftermarket part:

And the plug is wired correctly already, just plug it into the switch.

:woohoo: I succeeded. The rear screen on my hardtop is heated. I found the wiring was plugged into the blank as described and it was easely put into the switch. I bought a new relay and placed it as relay 3.
What I did´nt know was that I also needed a 25A fuse to put into fuse 7 which was empty . At fuse 6, which is not in use, there already was a 25A fuse as a spare. It was simply to put it into fuse 7 and every thing worked. Thanks for your help
