Well can tell you factually from one car at least.. the Daytona produces more power on the RR than the TT7...

Ok.. isolated case (one car) but nothing else on the car changed.. just the back box.. and the Daytona produced more..

In my opinion (don't count for much) at least the pitch/tone changes on the Daytona.. the TT7 just drones loud and louder..

Sold mine with 600 miles use..

And it didn't hang straight... But to be fair.. Neil has sorted the one pipe blowing thing.. and it hanging on the P

And kindly offered to sell me a brand new version at £20 off the list price ?!?!

Er... no ta..

I had the Toyosport stainless exhaust, great sounding for when you are knocking around but on a long run at speed it can be very fatiguing.

On light throttle openings it's not too loud and when you give it the beanz it gives a nice deep roar, however up to the end of June this year I was doing a three and a half hour round trip drive once a week for work, average speed on the A30 around 80 to 85 mph, after an hour or so at that speed the constant loud noise made the drive very tiring.

Just something to consider if the car is your daily drive.

Brian.

I think I must be the only person on this forum with a Double S Supersports back box as supplied by the MGOC. They are around £300 so about mid-range in the Toyo - Daytona scale. It starts to sing at 3000 RPM which coincides with about 70 MPH in 5th so Brian Badger's remarks about long motorway journeys could be relevant - especially if you have a hard top as it resonates quite loudly. It's less wearing at higher speeds but I wouldn't encourage speeding of course. With the roof down it sounds great to me. They have a life time warranty. With the Supersports you lose the exhaust strap as the backbox is a lot smaller. Hard to find 2nd hand though.

Daytona all the way....the sound is superb, it differs in tone throughout the entire rev range, guaranteed to make you smile.
The TT only blows out of one pipe, not a good look, and if it's such a good exhaust why have there been so many Mk's?
Buy cheap......buy twice, you only get what you pay for, however, if we all thought the same.........

I would like to point out that the TT blows out of both sides but anyone stuck in the past would not know that but hey ho that just my personal experience and MHO

Not if you bought the first batch..

I paid £330 or something.. Waited 8 months for the exhaust.. Then it hung on the wonk.. And blew out of one side..

Neil said bend the bracket to straighten it up.. I offered to drive to his and him bend the bracket.. He said 'that's not a service he offered'

Apparently I'm too fussy and the RH tail pipe sticking out further isn't 'that bad'

Get your ruler on the screen.. Check the lines are parallel... I was told 'maybe you didn't fit it right'

Er.. Maybe one pipe was too long?? Take it back and correct the defect? No.. Not a service we offer..

Again corrected on the later TT7s...

To cure the blowing out of one side he kindly offered to sell me a second exhaust at £20 discount... !?!

So I end up with £600 worth of exhausts.. One that works and one that don't.. ?!?

Fantastic..

Limited number a farce..

Forgive me if I'm not singing the praises of the TT7.. Bad experience for me.. In the past or not.. I lost money on what was sold to me as a 'limited edition'.. When quite clearly it's not a limited edition..

Wish I'd never wasted my money on it

Never mind the 8 month wait after paying in full.. And being promised 'any week now'

As said before.. The TT7 is AN option... But deffo not THE best exhaust out there..

I'll never buy another.. Or recommend one to a friend after the treatment I recieved

How any manufacturer can say 'yes I acknowledge it blows out of one side.. And there is a cure.. Buy another one' I think is poor service.. In fact it's a joke..

Not to mention the TT 7 reducing bhp..

And the poor quality stainless it's made from (seen 4 with rust on now)

I paid just over £400 for my exhaust.. Life time warranty.. Genuinely made in the UK..

Limited edition? One of one.. And had an eight hour wait.. Compared to an right month wait.. And paid at the end..

Does both loud and quiet.. At the flick of a switch.. Can't comment on bhp performance until the RR session..

Name the exhaust....

Hey its a TT7... Oh.. No it's not...

Hey they have copied Neil's design...

Oh.. Er this is a Lotus Exhaust which was around before the TT 7 was 'designed'..

You do the math ;)

Nothing against Neil as a person.. Nice guy.. But no after sales service/warranty.. The suck/blow buyers offered nothing as a fix other than 'buy another at £20 discount'

Not so much exhaust 'designer' as exhaust 'copier'

Nothing wrong with that..

As said.. The later ones do have the washer welded inside to equal out the gas flow..

Bit if you are chasing BHP... Get a mate with a Daytona and get yourself a RR session.. Compare the 2..

BTW if Neil or anyone else wants to send me the £145 I lost on my TT7.. I'll PM you my address...

B)

Won't hold my breath..

As is mentioned every time.. Listen to any exhaust system for real (in and out of the car) before parting with your money..

Ask about warranty details (we know toyosports offer none but doesn't make the product bad)

Speak to other owners and listen to good AND bad experiences and feedback..

How many second hand Daytona's come up for sale?

Ignore the self created hype..

If you are interested in BHP gains.. The only sure way to tell is compare exhausts on the same car.. Something I'd still like to see..

Wow.....didn't know you'd had such a shoddy experience, but then after I'd had a conversation with Neil regarding fitting and nuts and bolts I decided there and then NOT to go down the TT route....so glad I went Daytona.
Interesting that the Lotus exhaust looks err, shall we say........similar!

The Lotus one came first...

As others have said.. Most of the issues are now sorted with the newer ones..

But always makes me laugh when people say TT's never come up for sale second hand.. Like Daytona's and Scoripions do?!?
