Good Evening All
Good evening to one and all.....
I'm Rob based just outside Stratford Upon Avon
Just about to take ownership of a 2002 TF 135 in Grey with Grey leather /Alcantara
One Honest owner, bought new for his wife who never really liked driving her !
26k been kept garaged for most of its life but taken out for local runs taxed and MOT ed and serviced regular (should i check belts) ?....
not too bad nick considering age (not that i know anything too specific).
Baggy hard top lining..... handbrake switch flickers.... and apparently no supply to heated rear screen.... (pinched cable he said) ?
A few fine Kitty cat claw scratches on boot which should mop out and a worn bolster on the drivers side.....looks more mouse than seatbelt so a replacement is on cards for that..... I know most items will be answered via here.
runs sweet. head gasket done yrs ago, and anything else I've probably missed
Always liked the cars when new and came across this one while costing up some electrical work (Sparkie by trade).
Anyhow a deal that involved a new fuse board upgrade and a small amount of cash.... she is now mine or will be this Friday.
All the questions have been covered but i will take on board anything the experts on here can throw at me
Been reading up over last few weeks and have about 18 yrs left in info to catch up....
I'm no mechanic but can fettle my way through bolt on take off and swap stuff !
Excellent Forum content so looking to see who does what and when.
right now where's the post a pic button ??
oops found the pic button but i wanted to post after my intro !

Hi Robbie. Welcome to TF ownership and the forum. You've done very well indeed there especially as prices are finally, slowly on the rise.
I had the same wear as that on the driver's seat backrest bolster on my first TF. The foam had worn through ( same mouse maybe, it must have a bicycle) as well as the backrest cover so I replaced both with good 2nd ones. Driver and passenger side backrest covers are interchangeable. Your cover seems to have gone on the black part which will be an easy repair if you can't find another alcantara backrest.
Baggy headline is typical. They used a vinyl with a thin foam backing which turns to powder over time. I lifted the vinyl away, cleaned off the remains of the foam layer then re glued the vinyl back on with contact adhesive. A free fix.
Looks like you have the optional chrome pack there, the optional 16" wheels, AP Racing front calipers (made by Brembo no less) and front fogs. Quite a nice spec.
Check out Cobber's checklist for new joiners. These are all the key things that are best to check / attend to.
Lots to read here, lots of people who get their hands dirty.
