Hi All

Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself and my car.

I'm Luke, age 26. My day job is as a test engineer for electric vehicle batteries, so with the days numbered for exciting little sports cars I decided in April to buy a 2004 MG TF.

I have a bit of silly convention of naming my cars after female racing drivers of the manufacturers origin country (previously had a Ford called Danica), so my MG is named Dorothy after this lady https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dorothy_Levitt

:)

And here I was thinking you’d named it after my mother Lady Dorothy….better known to all as Dottie.

My car goes by many names….. how polite they are depends on how well it’s running

Mine is known as the Dominatrix due to the DRX registration but a previous Volkswagen that I never used to get far with was "the virgin" and a very tatty BMC Mini was always known as Star Trek as I used to shout that at it fairly often in the mornings. A very elegant CX was known as Grace, my 160 MPH Saab Turbo was Red Shift and a Citroen BX to which I fitted a frighteningly cryogenic aircon system was known as "Grolliffe", a small ice dragon, (clerical grade,) from the Sagas of Noggin the Nog.
