Wee idea of using the spare key fob I had, the zip part was broken so managed to break the rest off and feed the keyring through, think it gives better grip than using a zip!

The Vents and Fascia had been coloured by a previous owner, the centre console was also done but I took it out as it was snapped the sides, not sure if I will keep the colouring or take it back to standard.

List is huge for what I want to do, so is the cost!!!!!!

Sorry for the delay in getting back. Just been a wee bit doon in the dumps with the car! Still really like it but had a few issues and further expense to put out before MOT comes (Jun14)

Got the bodywork done, marks out of 10 = 8

Need new front wishbones, exhaust, front pads & discs just had new SS coolant pipes fitted however had a seroius air block and you will know what happens with that! Garage have re-bled and new coolant cap fitted. Seems ok the now so fingers crossed.

To be honest I should have kept the money that was spent on the paintwork, however if I never got it done it would be a long time until it was dealt with.

As you only have 8 out of 10 for the work what did he drop marks on?

Hello,

They had it for two weeks whilst I was away on holiday, when I returned it was not ready!

Mechanic on site had the bushes and a shock absorber to change, he never got the car passed to him until about 2 days of me being back. So nearly 3wks this all took.

Was not happy with one of the wings and drivers door inside just under the door hinge. Had been rust treated!

Now usning CHIC DOIG garage at Cardenden who is an MG specialist.

Another update:

Water pump not done, the garage done more checks. They found the jiggle valve was very badly clogged. The have refilled and rebled the system and temp holding, had the rad fan kicking in when it should. However they have seen some evidence of moisture and oil, seat side of engine head, could be historical though, seemingly the head was done at 40k car has done 67k. He does not want to change the water pump, belts etc.. just now if it is actually the head!

I have to guinea pig it for the a few days, and report back!

The thing is I was prepared for paying the bill for the new pump and belts, another 200 for actually getting the head done actually sounds more appealing, for peace of mnd etc..

That's it!

Picked it up from garage and got it up to temp, drove around for 20mins, nossiues then went home. Went to work 20min journey - overheated!

So thats it back to the garage tomorrow hopefully get it back Monday or Tuesday. New MTL gasket, water pump, belts etc.. feel more confident!

Has to be the solution!!!!!!! or :bust:

Stay with it and keep the faith! on here we have all had ups and downs. Just think of those crisp mornings, sunnies on, roof down, driving through the lanes and feeling on top of the world! :broon:

As Andy says its part of the deal with MG ownership, you are not alone we have all suffered. :hugs:

Should sort things!!

Make sure garage knows the bleed procedure exactly as factory recommend :broon:

See bensewels halfords thread for procedure and pitfalls of "professionals" thinking they know best
