Hi
I'm new ( from Italy) I have a 2002 Mgtf 160 with the compressor to replace but the model Is out of stock. The saic model is available but Rimmer Bros says it would not be compatible. Can changes be made? Has anyone solved this problem?
Thanks for any help

G'day. and welcome to The-T-Bar.
Although I'm probably regarded as knowledgeable on aircon systems around here, but as I'm from Australia and I've never seen a SAIC MG TF (we didn't get them here)
I can only guess why the compressor would be different, and my guess is the they used a Chinese compressor on the SAIC model and it probably has different mounting points.
So it probably wont bolt up to the brackets of the TF 160, the plumming might not bolt up either, due to the possibility of the ports location being different.
I' sorry that I cannot offer much more than that.

What is wrong with your existing A/C compressor, that it needs replacing?  Or are you trying to retrofit Aircon to a car that hasn't got it?
Either way you're probably better off sourcing a good second hand unit.

May I refer you to our checklist for new owners and members:  https://www.the-t-bar.com/forum/54-how-tos/99326-a-check-list-for-new-owners  it won't help much with you're current question butmay help you navigate other problems that you are likely to encounter.

I would suggest trying MGFNTFBITZ.co.uk for a good used compressor.
