Lucas square mgf fob replacement guide.
Does your fob look like these??
A full, in depth replacement guide is here!!
Firstly, log on to eBay and search for mg rover fob.
I found these at a very reasonable £3.55 each inc free delivery.
Now, choose your workspace, I chose the breakfast bar in the kitchen but any flat surface will do.
Lay out your fobs and replacement fobs.
Now, carefully open the old fobs, I've included a picture of some items that won't do the job.
And some that will.
Although you may need to be a bit careful with the hammer
Once you've got them open, carefully lift out the circuit board like so...
Now, place the board into the button side of the new fob.
You may need/want to change the battery for a new cr2025.
Don't buy pound shop ones as they're rubbish, buy cheap, buy twice!!
Now, place the back of the new fob on the front part and squeeze until you hear a snap as it clicks into place.
Fit them back onto your keys then sit back and view your handy work secretly pretending that your in 1995 having just picked up your new mgf
Thank you and good night!! :woohoo:

Sorry, but you have made one potentially catastrophic mistake! :spank:
Only do one at a time. Make sure the first one is working before starting the second.
That way, even if you mess up, you will still have one working fob.

Nice one, is the newspaper to remind you it is 2015 and not 1995?
