Are you thinking of putting your hardtop on ? 9 years 7 months ago #151498

You bunch of great big jessies...

Hard tops are for wimps.

Tara

Didn't you have a black hard top on on 'Bogey'?

Ours is on now, but only because i need the space in the garage for a while. Have to admit to liking how it looks for a change.

Some of us don't have an insulating layer to keep warm in the colder months. :p

Just have put this on ! It will be raining in the netherlands for the next to weeks. I'll pop it off once the sun will get back. Hardtop keeps my car dry for I'll put away during the winter months.

G'day fellas.
Im currently running with the hard top fitted to my car. It helps a lot with the drone of the TT muffler and the heat up here in Cairns, Nth Queensland Oz.
It makes a nice change re looks as well. I love it.
Only 30 seconds to remove so best of both worlds for me.
I retired from the Defence Force last week so Im looking forward to some relaxing runs through the tropics and table lands with the top down in the coming months.
Best wishes all.
Ken

Congratulations on your retirement Ken! I'm looking forward to retirement myself but not until the bl**dy mortgage is paid off. :pinch:
Do you have a post-military career lined up yet? I'm sure Quantas could use some low and slow pilots! :vulture:

Its a passion wagon for the elite super studs of Yorkshire, England. I've taken to the push bike for work commuting.

Hard tops look nice with mini dogs that live in handbags, eyebrow shaping and speedos.

But hey if thats what you like fair enough.

I also was told by a wekl known mg expert that hard tops cause suspension mounts to fail, head gaskets to fail and splitters to rip off due to the extra weight and temperature gauges to rise.

Some of the above facts maybe questionable in certain parts of the world.

G'day Rich mate.
Nope, no plans for work, and no more flying. Couldn't think of any thing worse than domestic heavy flights. Im not good with the public! Times right to give it all up and smell the roses after 26 years "any time, any where". Thats one of the reasons I bought the MG, give me something to focus on.
I rescued a 4 year old Shar Pei dog as well who's now inseparable, except in the MG. Too much slobber on the leather seats!
Best wishes mate.

No hard top for me either , roof can come down when ever its dry regardless of the temperature ...the heaters are great and the Tf warms up so guickly it would be rude not to take advantage of it!!!
