Yes, that's it, the exhaust valve, I will have to look at our other TF which doesn't have the exhaust valve, to see if it's blocked off or a different inlet manifold.
I'm going to be fitting an alloy inlet manifold to my 1.8 ZR. On the TF there is a thin yellow air pipe that is connected to the inlet manifold, this pipe doesn't exist on the ZR. I will be plugging it off but what is this yellow pipe for ? I can't follow it on my TF, it goes into the engine bay.
No, we don't have 4 pot calipers, just standard 135 brakes.
We have 6 cars in all, and coming out of one of the others into the TF, you realise just how bad the brakes are. And at the end of summer, the TFs go into hibernation, you get back into one of the other cars, brake and nearly go through the windscreen.
I did buy a strengthening bracket to stop flexing that is supposed to improve the feel of the brakes, not improve them, but never bolted it on.
I'm very mechanical, do all my servicing, cambelt etc. And I'm restoring a classic mini.
I will search the forum for how to when I'm on a pc, not easy to search on the phone.
Does a dodgy handbrake affect the foot brake? They're not much better!
Hi all.
We have 2 TFs and both suffer from bad handbrakes, one is especially bad, basically useless, only just gets through the French mot.
Any tips as to why they're so bad?
Thanks
Pete.
Coming back to this. My new cable arrived and looking at it, I’m wondering if that nasty closing plate needs to be removed. Can I not just pull the cable through the hole in the closing plate then feed the new one through ?
Thanks for that. What about with the subframe exhaust etc still on the car. Seems there might be a probleme getting a plate off between the subframe and body.
Any views?
Hi all.
Is there a how to on changing à handbrake cable on a TF ?
Mine is full of rusty water and is sticking, it's worn the pads down and turned the disk blue!!!
