Well, my first car was a VW Derby.
Ugly and boring with whopping 40HP.
But it gave me unlimited freedom, I spent hours just driving around listening to music cassettes...

My first car was of couse a mini 1960 and it was 1966 when I got it, quickly followed by a H A VIVA followed by a Lotus Cortina mk2 then3 Spitfires an Anglia then 4 fiastas, 1 xr3 then came my MG period [ 1998- to date ]

Triumph Vitesse mk2, complete with chocolate big end bearings and shot bushes around so it drove like pig, I loved it

1937 Standard 8 tourer - with hood & wooden floorboards.
Took my test in it when hand signals were mandatory. There was a canvas flap under the side screens, which you stuck your hand out to give appropriate signal.
Could have been the V sign for all the examiner knew
