Hi Tony, Our cars don't get driven between the end of Novenber and the end of March, so I really don't know if in cold weather how long/far it takes for them to warm up. But in spring weather I think they are throwing heat within about a mile of home.

Thanks for the complement concerning my car, its one of two amaranth-coloured MGFs in Canada. My wife's is flame red, a great colour in my opinion.

Hello Mark. Another great looking car, yes your wife's TF does look good in red. Thanks for the update on the heater temperature. I also have a 1960 Ford Anglia, ( a little different to to the TF) which stays in the garage for the winter months.
Regards Tony

Managed to get inlet manifold off today YES most from above .used lift just for coolant drain .Jiggle valve blocked so clean out and replace everythng tmorow. .All lower nuts removed with help of mirror and feeling about ..Great cars and a challenge ..Our workshop has decided the cheapest runaround is a 1975 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow .insurance £100 a year no MOT no tax £20 a week petrol .Easy repairs The mgf is great but enjoyable day and nightmare!
There's nowhere to go .

I had a Silver Shadow some years ago. With 13mpg I did not describe it as 'cheap runaround' back then...
And to change to hydraulic fluid every 5k miles was quite annoying as well.

as ever,
Rob

Well to confirm HGF so more fun to follow . Belt and water pump .changed not so long ago .So is it possible just to release belt tension .timing marks kept and just change gasket ? At least I now can't.remove fit inlet manifold quickly .
There's too much thinking at night in bed
How to do this and that .
Having to help rebuild an MGC as well.
