Bloody hell! Brings new meaning to the old addage 'Jap Crap'! You can really see the Ford influence there - as Hondas are much better (as long as you don't get the rubber underseal damaged and not checked and repaired, as then they rust under that and fall apart before you know it!).

Our F's and TF's (even given the later ones Project Drive lack of any kind of decent rust protection) don't rust anywhere near as badly!

I took an 08 plate one for a test drive a couple of years ago and it was a bit meh.

Isn't the 5 more like the MGB and the F closer to a MR2?

i noticed how the early mx5 mirrored the early lotus elan.....you can see how the japs wanted to copy our british sports car looks

Rumour has it that Mazda got an élan and stripped it down and modernised it for the mx5.

Also, without googling it, what does mx5 mean??
