OK the planter was originally 24" x 6". That's measured on the top, which is wider than the bottom, of course.

OK, I had a cunning plan... it involves cutting pieces out of the black plastic shroud under the bonnet, and inserting a modified plastic planter.

The result is a lot more space to put stuff.
