spent 12hrs bonding with Elaine.. And she has warn me out..

started a 7am on the radiator I can see why the car was always hot, there was hardly anything left of the rad to cool it down, then had to find 3 bolts for the fan because i had to cut the old ones off with the dremal...with the rad in place i move onto the coolant pipes.. OMG that plate under the car was a nightmare, I broke 2 10mm sockets ended up go to halfords and buying a 1/2 10mm deep socket good chunky socket and that worked, got the new SS pipes on after cutting myself pulling rubber hose of end so time for a rest and a cig so i sat there and cleaned all the rusty bolts from the plate using my di set by the time i did that and whacked on some copper grease i could wind all the bolts in fully by hand.. a job well done and well worth the time, so time to remove the engine cover ready to bleed the system, yet again massive thanks to those that contribute there time and effort in doing the how toos.. spot on... with the system all bled i decided while I had the front bumper off I would swap the nice brightwork from the freestyle, mission done and onto wiring up the Drl's properly.. in between doing all this today i was also helping my neighbour work on his '68' beetle

what was left of rad

nice shiny new rad installed

all that glitters is not gold

horrible rusty bolt threads fill with grot

same bolt after cleaning it using the di

coolant pipes installed

Good work, fella!
Frustrating but satisfying eh?

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

Aye lad, so long as the headers and cores were sound, we used to repack the finning. Tedious though!

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..
