If you have an hour or so spare it might be worth you cleaning the front arch where it collects dirt.
Just a couple of screws and pull the plastic inner arch away, water hose and jobs a good one....

Good call, my arches were really manky and i used the opportunity to clean and repair some surface rust on the inside of the arch. Bit fiddly to get the arch liners back though. :broon:
Just a point, I see you pics show the car on a the MGR jack. Not a good plan, always get the car on axle stands at the soonest opportunity if the wheels are being taken off. I had a car fall off a rover jack once and its not funny. :nonod:

Very good point T about using MGR jack but there was an axle stand under the subframe just out of view..

The wheel arch and inner wheel arch could be sealed, but then it would make it difficult to keep checking this area.

Thanks for posting the pic of stand use. I didn't want to sound like a HSE inspector. We just don't want to loose MGer through dangerous DIY work.
On another point nice block paving, Mrs T would cut my **lls off if dropped a molecule of oil on that surface, you must be a clean worker![:-) :-)](/media/kunena/emoticons/9.png)
