Hi Ben, when you're ready, you could always put a 'wanted' post up here with what you're looking for and would like in your next car. You could put a price tag on it too if you like.

It's totally up to you what you buy of course. But perhaps a car with a known background might be more appealing. If one of the long term members were selling a car they might like it to go to a good home. It's just a thought that occurred to me. You can always say no if you see something more appealing during your searching.

It's my guess that some people selling their F or TF's come here as 'guests' to have a look anyway. :broon: Many of our more experienced members would be happy to give any car you're considering buying a virtual lookover if you like. Some can even look at a cars factory build info once they have the VIN. We'll even help you scour the net for something suitable if you list up what it is that you want. Many hands make light the work innit guv'nor. :)

It's your choice. But the offer's there if you want it, whenever you're ready. ;)

looks verysad for its self, I suppose it depends how attached to the car you are, I think if I'd done that sort of damage to either of mine they would be written off because of the price of the paint :nonod:

good luck with which ever you decide :broon:

Well the assessor is coming out tomorrow. For me my ideal MGF / TF is just how its meant to look out of the factory I'm not bothered about upgrades as such but the main things I'm after is full leather seats and good nick. Silver / grey or black is my fav colours. Hopefully when the assessor comes out they will sort me out with a settlement figure hopefully good enough to get another one.

Cheers for the offer of helping me get another I really like MG's I've had two ZRs and a ZTT before going to motorbiking but now caught the bug again :)

I'm excited about getting another I'm a bit attached to the car but there's others available. B)

You're welcome Ben. :)

Make a wanted post here with your criteria, when you're ready, and we'll get right on it. :)

If you do end up looking for another car, the are a couple near me in Huddersfield, a blue S reg MG F and a silver 02 plate TF. £795 and £1595 though they have had the TF since late September so may well take less for it (not easy to sell convertibles in winter)

Sorry to read about this.

Overall it doesn't look that bad but without seing under the bonnet it's hard to tell.

Also does the car still drive straight?

If it is only what one can see in the photos I'd be tempted not to claim but do the work myself, there are no specialised tools involved, and avoid increased premiums. Also what excess do you have, if it is a large one you may be out of pocket going through insurance compared to DIY.

Home to black Alfa Romeo 159 3.2 V6 Q4 ,green MGF VVC and red MG Maestro T16.

MG - the friendly marque.
