The brake cables are held on by banjo clips normally, could it be that a previous owner replaced one with a nut and bolt?

TBH after almost skinning every knuckle and finger tip on those bloody banjo bolts when we changed the brakes hoses to SS braided ones on Slave 1, I don't blame anyone for changing to the ease of a nut and bolt! Work of the devil those banjo clips I tells ya!!!!!!!!!

That sounds like it, I did the same on my F but put a double nut on the end to act as a locknut. Maybe I should change it before the MOT.
