Evening all,
First off I'm not a regular poster here, more of a lurker!
I noticed the MGF Register Forum had shut down though which is a shame. I was occasionally active there. Such a loss of information for many people. Hopefully some of the info can live on
Anyway, my MGF is for sale as we are selling up our worldly possessions and moving off-grid next summer.
I tried to hyperlink the Auto Trader ad but was unable to include the link. However, since there aren't many left, you'll see it there with a quick search - it's the one registered Y*** TOH.
Info from Auto Trader:
2001 (Y) MGF 1.8 in one of the rarer colours 'Sienna Gold' (paint code GUF). Owned for 5 years but we are moving off-grid, so sadly I need to let her go.
47,500 miles from new. Cambelt and water pump replaced 2024 at 45k (receipt) - not due again until 2029. Latest oil & filter service was last month (June 2026) alongside MOT, which is now valid to June 2027 with no advisories.
No underside rust issues - subframes and sills are in good condition. Paintwork is in excellent condition. There is minor bubbling on the nearside windscreen frame, and a minor bubble on the offside front edge of the front wing, barely visible in shots.
Select upgrades:
Stainless steel OEM MG coolant pipes fitted (engine bay and underbody). Installed as part of OAT coolant replacement. This was done at the same time the cambelt, aux and water pump were replaced in 2024.
Recently fitted Mike Satur glass wind deflector which makes driving with the top down a joy (much less buffeting than the mesh version).
Also has K&N OEM-spec panel air filter, and uprated Land Rover column stalks. It has Toyo Proxes TR1 tyres all round. These were fitted under 900 miles ago - the moulding whiskers are still visible.
Hydragas suspension recharged in 2025, so it sits at the correct ride height and rides as MG intended.
Maintained by me personally - I'm an ex-aircraft mechanic, so it's been looked after to a high standard. Comprehensive receipt file covering parts and consumables. Full MOT history available online against the reg.
It's a 25-year-old car, so it's priced accordingly, i.e do not expect concours. However, I believe this is one of the finest examples currently available - particularly this colour.
Aside from general, gentle wear and tear, there is a small seam split on the driver's seat bolster, visible in the photos, and carpet wear in the driver's footwell (near accelerator), which has been tape-repaired. This is mostly obscured by the MG mats, but a point to note nonetheless.
Please do come and see for yourself - I have nothing to hide, and would be really happy to pass this on to someone who will continue to care for her in the way she deserves.
NOTE: I'm not a regular on the forum, hopefully this is within the forum rules to post! I am unlikely to reply to messages here but of course, if interested please do contact me via the Auto Trader link (telephone only).
Cheers,
Kris
