Greetings
Evening,
I've been registered here on the t-bar for a few years but never really posted anything so thought I would say hello. Currently have an 04 TF135 in trophy blue with a lot of the mods that have been suggested on here so many and varied but as mentioned the best mod one can make is the low coolant alarm.
Have been lurking for many years enjoying the how-tos.
I know its been done to death but a recent one that I've done myself is to replace the accelerator cable but keep the original outer and put a smaller diameter well lubed inner cable (1.5mm OD) from car builder solutions, this is significantly smaller but more importantly doesn't suffer from the drag as it negotiates the route to the TB with a solderless nipple fitted and screw thread locked into place. The cable is now firm (not overly but reassuringly so) to the push but consistent and smooth in its travel unlike the original which always suffered from hesitation on the initial press before over revving then by being pressed to much to compensate for the lack of action. I did the NC500 last week where the mod was extremely nice especially with the stop starting in the lay bys on the run up from Kinlochbervie to Durness making way for all the camper vans.
On a separate note, does anyone run 215 40 16s all round on their TFs? I know that you should have 195s on the front, but I've found that I like the 215s on each corner, yes its more sensitive but fiddling with tyre pressures makes it manageable. 28F 30R. (Standing by to be roasted) I did have them on the F previously as recommended.
Tks

Hi Nigel and welcome!
That's a good tip about the accelarator cable.
My TF 135 has 15 inch wheels which I actually like the size of, makes me an odd one out!
I have just fitted 205-50-15's all round instead of 185 on the front and personally I feel I overtyred the front. I think 195 would be perfect to retain the sharpness it had.
It will be interesting to see what others think about the same tyres back and front.
My son has an hotel on the NC500 and he gets lots of car clubs doing the route.
Keep up the posting and show us your car!
